Why I'm Frugal

Many of you who know me know that I live in a castle. Not in some faraway fantasy land, but right smack in the middle of Austin, Texas. My husband, who is a very clever and creative man, turned an ordinary ranch-style house into a little bit of Disney Magic. We both have good jobs (for now - but we are holding our breath to see what happens when the Obamanites have their way with Health Care and Stimulus spending). Many people wonder why I feel the need to be frugal with my spending.

It comes down to this: God tells us to be good stewards of everything He gives us. If I save money on groceries, clothes, education, and entertainment, it gives me more money to help those that are less fortunate. It helps me save for a rainy day so that I will not be a burden on anybody else. And, quite frankly, it has come to be a game with me. Just how much money can I save? How low will a merchant go to get or keep my business? Can I really get 10 outfits from Dillards for less than $150? And actually wear them once I get them home? My husband, Steve, has caught the frugal bug, as well. He has been known to go through the line at Walgreen's three different times on the same Sunday just to get the good deals.

What I hope to accomplish over the next few months is to share my frugalness with my friends and their friends that they choose to share with.
